Weather Austria enjoys a temperate Central European climate with four different seasons.
Austrian climate is considered to temperate and continental. Austria is known for the cloudy and cold winters, with frequent rain and some snow in lowlands and mountains. Summers are moderate with occasional showers. Even during the summer, a sweater is usually needed. 
Summer
Summers in Austria are warm when the days are lighted up with the golden rays of the sun. The summer months are between June and August while winter is severe in the months of January and February. Thunderstorms are more common in Austria during the summer months. Austria receives most of its rain throughout the summer months. 
Winter
Mostly during winter days the temperature tends to fall as you climb in higher grounds, with the mountain tops being subjected to really cold weather. The ski lovers though tend to visit Austria during winter due to the occasion of the mountains turning out to be ideal skiing destinations. “Foehn” may blow over Austria during the winter season affecting the weather further more. North eastern of Austria, winter conditions are more severe than the southern part of Austria which enjoys warm and sunny conditions.
